Hello, I'm Michelle.
Bowtech practitioner. Former Registered Nurse. Currently training in McLoughlin Scar Tissue Release (MSTR), with bookings opening once qualified. Quietly obsessed with the body's capacity to heal itself when you give it the right kind of input.
I was drawn to nursing in the 1990s out of a deep-seated desire to be part of the process of treating serious illness — to help people on their way back to good health, or through a dignified palliation when good health was no longer possible.
Most of my nursing career was spent in Intensive Care. Long shifts at the bedside of very sick people teach you a lot about the body — how it holds stress, how it recovers, what it tolerates and what it doesn't. That knowledge of anatomy and physiology is something I now bring quietly into every Bowen session.
With a fervent desire to keep learning, and after personally receiving Bowen therapy with profound results, I trained as a Bowen therapist. The next step felt obvious.
Trained in Bowtech
My Bowen training is in Bowtech — the original Bowen technique, developed by healer Tom Bowen in Geelong, Victoria, in the 1950s and now recognised in over 30 countries. Bowen is gentle, but its effects can be profound. It works with your body, not against it, and encourages your nervous system to settle and self-correct.
Member of the Bowen Association of Australia & the Bowen Academy of Australia
I'm a member of both the Bowen Association of Australia and the Bowen Academy of Australia — the professional bodies that uphold standards of practice and ongoing training for Bowtech therapists in Australia. I'm also fully insured through the International Institute for Complementary Therapists (IICT).
Currently training in MSTR (coming soon)
I'm in the process of qualifying in McLoughlin Scar Tissue Release (MSTR) — a separate, standalone treatment for releasing scar tissue from surgery, c-section, mastectomy, joint replacement or trauma. MSTR is a gentle, hands-on technique that can ease pain, restore range of movement, and improve the look and feel of scar tissue.
Once my training and case study requirements are complete, I'll be offering MSTR as its own treatment — booked separately to Bowen, not combined. I expect to open MSTR bookings around mid-2026. Find out more about MSTR — case study spots are open now.
A blood pressure check, if you'd like one
I have a blood pressure testing station on-site for individual or ongoing readings. It's not a service in its own right — but if you're managing your blood pressure, I'm happy to take a quick reading at your session.

The body knows what to do, when you give it space.
Bowen taught me something nursing only hinted at: when you stop trying to force the body and instead invite it to do its own work, profound changes can happen. The strategic pauses between Bowen moves are where it all happens — your body processing, your nervous system settling, your own healing response coming online.
I see this in every kind of client — newborns to elderly, tradies and office workers, athletes and people recovering from surgery. Bowen is gentle, but the changes it makes are not subtle.
